Getting to Mull

Where is Mull?

On the West Coast of Scotland – Oban is the nearest town on the mainland.

Travel by:

Plane:  nearest airports -  Glasgow International and Prestwick

Train:  Trains from Glasgow to Oban 3 times a day, the first 2 connect with a ferry to Mull  www.nationalrail.co.uk    www.thetrainline.com

Or take the sleeper from London to Fort William

Bus:     Coaches from Glasgow to Oban 3 times a day  www.citylinktickets.com/timetables.htm

(Buses on Mull leave from Craignure ferry terminal )

Car:  If coming via Oban by car you should book your ferry space in advance (this is free)  www.calmac.co.uk

Taxi: We can collect you from the airport or from the sleeper in Fort William, in fact from anywhere in Central Scotland  www.mullionataxi.com/minibus.htm

Ferry: however you travel you will need to cross to Mull by ferry.

The main route is Oban-Craignure, which is a 40-minute crossing on a big comfortable vessel with cafeteria and bar.

If travelling by car you can choose from 2 other routes – Lochaline-Fishnish (good from the North), or for a scenic but longwinded route, Kilchoan-Tobermory. All ferries run by Caledonian MacBrayne  www.calmac.co.uk

If you are coming on one of our custom tours, park the car in Oban and travel as a foot passenger.
