David is a founder member of the Argyll Islands Tourist Guides Association (affiliated to the Scottish Tourist Guides Association), and is not only a keen walker but has an active interest in the local wildlife and history of the area. There is a good chance of seeing both the Sea Eagle and Golden Eagle, our largest birds of prey, also the Buzzard, probably our commonest, along with Harriers, Kestrels, Merlins and Sparrowhawks . Red deer are plentiful on Mull as are seals - otters are sometimes seen but are very shy.

Why not join David in a guided visit to one of the many sites of historical interest - and great beauty! - on the Ross of Mull, such as the ruined township of Shiaba or the burial mound and stone circle at Suidhe. Round this off with a visit to the Ross of Mull Historical Centre in Bunessan, a project which David helped start, and which has extensive records of how and where the people used to live and work, as well as records of where local people emigrated to during the late 18th and early 19th Century, including copies of loading manifests of the emigration ships themselves.
