WILDLIFE TOURS

Mull is not only one of the most beautiful islands on the West Coast of Scotland, it is also well-known for its rich wildlife.

FOR A UNIQUE DAY OUT:

Why not take a day’s wildlife tour with David, and benefit from his long experience of living on the island (since 1973!)

Mull is one of the best places in Britain to spot Otters, Golden Eagles and Sea Eagles (also known as white-tailed eagles). Red deer and common seal are abundant, buzzards commonplace! We also have Hen Harriers, Kestrels, Merlin, Short-Eared Owls and many other land birds. On the surrounding seas we have all three types of diver, oyster-catchers, cormorant, shag, razorbill, puffin, and several species of duck to name but a few!!!

See these against a backdrop of towering mountains and clear seas and lochs, clothed in their different colours according to the season – in May the yellow of the flag iris, in September the purple of the heather etc. Take a look at our 'sister site':www.aboutmullwildlife.co.uk for further information.

Plus visit some of the special places on the island and hear stories of Mull life past and present.

David will collect you from your accommodation anywhere in the South of Mull (connection with the Iona ferry), or from the ferry in Craignure (for those coming over from Oban for the day).

The route of the tour is decided on the day according to weather conditions etc. Don’t be put off by the weather, the wildlife isn’t necessarily! Otters love cloudy days and eagles strong winds for soaring on.

Tea/coffee provided, but bring your own lunch (there will also be the opportunity to buy something to eat)

Wear sturdy footwear and bring wet weather clothing, also binoculars if you have them. Don’t forget your camera!!!

We do provide some binoculars, also a telescope for your use.

Stag David, binoculars at the ready!
